Methodology and respondent pro昀椀le
The results in this report are based on a survey of 263
昀椀nancial advice professionals, conducted between June and
August 2025. Results have been weighted by size of 昀椀rm by
number of advisers to be representative of the whole market.
The charts in this section show the pro昀椀le of the 昀椀nancial
advice professionals that responded to our survey. We use the
term ‘昀椀nancial advice professional’ because we want to hear
views from across 昀椀nancial advice businesses – from planners,
paraplanners, ops and admin teams. This year’s respondent
pro昀椀le is similar to past reports.
• 81% work in businesses that are directly authorised.
• The majority (87%) are at advice 昀椀rms which provide
independent advice.
• 36% are between the ages of 45 and 64, with over threequarters (81%) under the age of 54.
• Over three quarters (80%) work within 昀椀rms that have a
hub in the South of England or London
• Respondents represent a wide range of 昀椀rms by size,
based on assets under advice and number of client-facing
